Dream Out Loud
Nuh Omar is a director and screenwriter from Karachi, Pakistan. He has worked in film, new media, shorts, advertising, and music videos, and has worked for companies such as Engro, Saatchi & Saatchi, and The Institute.
His resume ranges from commercials for Procter & Gamble, corporate films, interviews with UN Assistant Secretary Generals, to web series with Playboy Playmates. His screenplay ‘The Porter and The Stone’ won Best Short at Screencraft’s Public Domain Competition 2021, and was a finalist in Oscar qualifying festivals such as The Atlanta Film Festival 2022 and Hollyshorts 2021, along with numerous other accolades, and has been in Coverfly’s Top 1% Screenplays since 2021. His screenplay for the TV pilot “A Matter of Time” was winner of the Filmmatic TV Pilot Awards Season 6.
His film ‘Mojiza-E-Fun’ (‘The Miracle of Art’) about late sculptor and South Asian arts pioneer Shahid Sajjad was shown at the Engro Excellence Awards, and he has written and directed over 100 episodes for the Youtube web series ‘The Fortress of Dorkness’.
He lives and works in Los Angeles and New York, and has worked in Karachi. His work can be seen in North America, Europe, and Asia.
He is a fan of science fiction and fantasy, particularly of magical realism. His mantra is “Dream Out Loud”.
